State of the Manuscript 10/15/2025

Welcome to my monthly update on the state of my project manuscripts. This is where I provide general status updates about my work.
Yesterday, I announced the title of Book 2 in The Arcane Codex across my social media accounts. The novel will be titled Death & Destiny in the Mountains, and I'm currently looking at a Fall 2026 release date, though it's too early for me to choose an exact date yet.
Death & Destiny in the Mountains is currently undergoing developmental edits with my editor. For those of you who aren't familiar with the publishing process, this is the first of three rounds of edits for the manuscript, where the focus is on plot and character arcs. In short, the book is coming along, but it will be several months before it's polished and refined enough for release. Once I receive the notes back on the manuscript, I'll doing another round of revisions and start working with beta readers to get their feedback.
In the meantime, I've started working on a short story for an anthology I signed up to be a part of next year. It's been nice to take a little bit of a break from longer projects and for a chance to work on honing my skills writing shorter fiction. The story is from a drastically different perspective than I've written in the past, so this is a new experience for me on that front as well. I'm excited to see how it turns out.
