State of the Manuscript 07/16/2025

Welcome to my monthly update on the state of my project manuscripts. This is where I provide general status updates about my work.
Magic & Murder in the Holler is completely finished, and ready to get into readers' hands in just over two months. I'm equally nervous and excited for it to be shared with the world. I'll start sending out my Advanced Reader Copies to those who signed up for one pretty soon, which I'm incredibly excited about.
As for the currently untitled Arcane Codex Book 2, I finished the second draft at the end of June, and I'm currently letting it sit. I like to give myself at least three weeks between drafts, so I won't be looking at the document again until the end of this month, or very early August.
In the meantime, I've started working on a short story. I feel strange when I don't have some project to work on, so I tend not to "sit still" for long when it comes to my writing. After all, I've got so many ideas for stories that I want to tell, and it feels like there's never enough time to write them all. I tend not to plan out my stories ahead of time, so I'm discovering the plot as I go. I'm not sure how, or even if, this short story will connect to my other works, but I'm excited to see how this story unfolds.
