State of the Manuscripts - 3/19/2025

Welcome to my monthly update on the state of my project manuscripts. This is where I provide general status updates about my work.

I've received the line and copy edits on Magic & Murder in the Holler back from my editor and have started the process of going through her notes and revising the manuscript. She gave some great feedback, but line and copy edits get down into the "nitty gritty" of the book more than past rounds of editing, and I want to devote enough time to this round of revisions/rewrites. I'm eager to share the book with the world, but I don't want to rush the process.

I've also started my first draft of the sequel novel, though it is coming along a little slower. I had a few false starts in getting the draft started, and had to re-evaluate which ideas I had for the book that I really want to explore, and which ones I'll save for a different book, either in the same series or in a standalone work. While I'm still working on it, this draft has taken a backseat to my revisions on Magic & Murder in the Holler. I expect my work on this one to pick up sometime in April.

Those are the two projects I'm working on right now. I've done a little bit of revising my heist short story, but not enough to comment too heavily on yet. I reread it and noticed a few problem areas that I need to consider before moving forward with it.
